Superconductivity Coexisting With Magnetism

The compound that is pictured is related to RuSr2GdCu2O8, the hybrid ruthenocuprate that have been discovered to become magnetic at 135 K and then to become superconducting at 45 K. Below this temperature there is homogeneous magnetism coexisting with superconductivity. Originally thought to be ferromagnetism, it now seems that the RuO2 layers are antiferromagnetic.
